Wedding Photography at Morden Hall – Stephanie & Craig
Wedding Location - Morden Hall |
Reception Location - Morden Hall
You may recognise these two from my “Engagement Photography London” post, featuring the highlights from their pre-wedding session in central London back in June. It was wonderful to be working with Stephanie & Craig once again, and totally awesome to shoot my first wedding at the magnificent Morden Hall in Surrey. What an absolute gem it is (really), it’s an exquisite 18th century country house in South London and one of the finest wedding venues in the area.
I had already visited it back in July for reconnaissance purposes and had the chance to meet their fabulous team. I usually have a bit of a scout about, seeking out the most picturesque places and the best light traps. Not necessary here, every room seemed to have the most amazing decorations, colours and light – mind-blowing! It was also great to have Charlie Marshall shooting with me for this one, having a second photographer present really extends the possibilities for creative photography. Her journalistic/documentary background really comes into play at weddings, focusing on story-building and capturing the detail is what wedding photography is all about!
We had the most glorious sunshine, possibly the best day in October actually! This was a good thing, since the ceremony was conducted outside (legal part inside) in Morden Hall’s sublime grounds! Actually, the gardens extend into Morden Park which is owned and maintained by the National Trust – well worth a visit (I’m not contractually obligated to say that, but I’m open to talks!) Many of Craig’s family and friends travelled all the way from Australia – so we simply HAD to have a blue sky!
It was amazing fun photographing these two, from the moment we arrived until the last frame. It felt like so much had happened in just one day, so it must have been a whirlwind for Stephanie & Craig. What an amazing celebration they put on, whilst remaining so chilled all the way through! I have to say, they made a great choice with Morden Hall! What an amazing place, and the staff were on top of everything! That’s what I like to see, it’s doing all the little things well that makes an unforgettable experience. Enjoy the highlights!
