Engagement Photography London – Stephanie & Craig
Remember June of 2017? Remember how HOT it was? I mean, I love it when the sun comes out… believe me! But 36.5C for us Brits is a bit right wing!I met Stephanie & Craig back in January when they’d recently fulfilled their ambition of opening their own pub, which is fabulous by the way – check out the Crane in Wandsworth! They completely renovated the whole thing – top to bottom! I could see they were excited about seeing their dreams turn into reality, moreover, excited that their wedding was to be held at the magnificent Morden Hall in October (I just shot it – it was epic 😉 photos to come).First up, they wanted to get some images in Central London and use them for their wedding invitations (which is a great use). So of course, we looked at the forecast and headed in! We decided to meet at the iconic London eye on the hottest day of the year (did I mention it was hot?), I thought either my camera or myself would break down – insane heat. We decided to go for the evening when the sun was a couple of hours away from setting, we call it the golden hour.
As the sun gets lower, it passes through more of the Earth’s atmosphere and this causes the light to fragment to some degree, dispersing a greater range of colours and bringing out the reds and golds. Also, the Sun’s a lot harder to deal with when it’s directly overhead, causing harsh shadows in unflattering places (you don’t want that).I just love the atmosphere in London, particularly in the summer. We were able to spend some time on Waterloo Bridge, which in my book, has the best view of London looking both east and west. I love the sight of all the street performers, and the smell of Candied Peanuts sold on the streets – amazing. After we crossed the bridge, it was over to Covent Garden… which is another one of my favourite parts of London!Below are just a few images from the shoot, I shall post some more soon. If you’re interested in having a pre or post wedding session in London (or anywhere for that matter), do get in touch and let me know a little about yourself and your plans!
