Burford Bridge Hotel Wedding Photography

Libby & Eric

This one's a Christmas one!

Hiya folks! Let me tell you all about a wedding I had the pleasure of photographing just before Christmas. The lovely couple in question were Eric, from Chicago, and his bride Libby, who he met while living in England. They had their wedding at the beautiful Burford Bridge Hotel in Surrey, which was decked out in Christmas decorations that added a magical touch to the festivities.

About Burford Bridge

Now, before we get into the nitty-gritty of the wedding, let's talk a bit about Burford Bridge Hotel itself. This place has some serious history, folks. It's been around since the 1500s, and over the years has played host to all sorts of famous people, from Oliver Cromwell to John Keats. These days, it's a gorgeous hotel with all sorts of modern amenities, including a spa, fitness centre, and conference facilities. But for our purposes, the most important thing is that it's a fantastic venue for weddings, with beautiful gardens and a rustic barn that's perfect for ceremonies and receptions.

On the big day, Eric and Libby got ready in different parts of the hotel. Eric and his best man looked dapper in their three-piece navy blue suits, complete with pocket watches. Meanwhile, Libby was getting ready with her sister Sarah and her mum. When her dad arrived and saw her in her dress for the first time, he was over the moon - it was a beautiful moment, and I was so glad to capture it on camera.

The Ceremony

The ceremony itself was held in the hotel's rustic barn room, and Libby made quite an entrance, walking down the aisle to "The Shire" from Lord of the Rings. It was a perfect choice, and set the tone for the rest of the ceremony, which was officiated by their friends Melissa and Colin. They did an amazing job, and some other friends provided the music, with a guitar and vocals combo. When the ceremony was over, I took a photo of all the guests cheering from a balcony overlooking the barn area. It was a great moment, and everyone was clearly overjoyed to be there.

After the ceremony, Libby and Eric took a moment to enjoy some champagne before we headed outside for some family photos and portraits. The gardens surrounding Burford Bridge Hotel are truly stunning, with all sorts of lovely greenery and flowers. It was the perfect backdrop for some gorgeous photos of the happy couple.

The Reception

While the newlyweds were off taking photos, their guests were treated to drinks and canapés, while the barn area was transformed for the reception. It was amazing to see the rustic decor come together, and the cake made by one of their friends, Rona, was a true masterpiece.

The speeches were a particular highlight of the reception, with Eric and his best man sharing some hilarious stories about growing up together. It was clear that these two had been through a lot, and their friendship was really something special. And then there was the dancing - oh boy, was there dancing. The DJs played all sorts of classic 80s anthems, and Libby's brother Robbie was an absolute star on the dance floor. It was such a joy to watch everyone having such a great time.

All in all, it was an amazing day, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it. Eric and Libby are clearly meant to be together, and their wedding was a true testament to their love and friendship. If you're planning a wedding and looking for a beautiful venue, I'd definitely recommend checking out Burford Bridge Hotel - it's got everything you could possibly want, and more.
